We are exhibiting at the Toronto Coral Show today!

We’ll have the NEW JellyTank 5.0 on display as well as the Jellyfish Art Cylinder. And, the SOON TO BE AVAILABLE Jellyfish Aquarium Filter/Circulation Insert, which convert standard aquariums that you’d get at your local pet store into functional and reliable jellyfish aquarium. We’re very excited about these inserts as they allow people to have a larger jellyfish aquarium at an affordable price.

Spotted Lagoon Jellyfish Now In Stock

We have a limited number of Spotted Lagoon Jellyfish (Mastigias papua) now in stock.

Also called simply, Lagoon Jellyfish or Spotted Jellyfish, they are an extraordinarily beautiful and relatively hardy, small jellyfish. The their semi-translucent bells range in color from golden brown to pale blue and can have hues of green, yellow, orange or pink markings. And, their bells and oral arms are covered with many, many white polka dots. Instead of having a single, centralized mouth, they have many tiny mouths distributed throughout their oral arms.
Spotted jellyfish are photosynthetic. Meaning that they derive part of their energy/nutrition from symbiotic (zooxanthellae) algae that grows inside their body. Their aquarium needs to be illuminated by high intensity, full spectrum light, about twelve hours per day (controlled by a timer). Basically, any light fixture designed for a reef aquarium (capable of supporting coral growth) will work for these jellyfish.
Click here for info on the type of light fixture you’ll need.
These jellies are active swimmers but do well in relatively small aquariums. They become more active when there is food in the water and tend to settle down and expose their (algae containing oral arms to the light) when food is not present.
